On 1st April 1978 Derek and Maureen Fallis took the keys to Dobbin’s Inn Hotel in Carrickfergus and are now supported by daughter Kirsty as they start another 40 years in the hospitality business. In 2018 The Fallis family celebrated 40 years of running one of Northern Ireland’s oldest hotels 2018. Built in the early 13th Century by the Norman Knight Reginald D'Aubin, the Inn is a well loved establishment and a listed building with period features including 16th Century Priest Hole and Elizabethan Fireplace as well as our resident ghost Maud! The hotel also recently celebrated being awarded a three star hotel rating in the summer of 2018 after beginning a period of interior renovation which will eventually see all 15 bedrooms refurbished whilst still maintaining the quaint and old world charm of the centuries old building.ĭobbins Inn has a unique legacy spanning at least 800 years.
